The name Sibisym

it´s beginning

When we finally decided to preed, the whole family gatherd arround the table to discuss a catteryname. Before that, i already sat down, armed with an atlas, to study the names of citys and rivers and wrote a few down. After a hot discussion :o)) we decided for 3 of this names. "von Kara", "von Barabiaskja" (we liked this one the best) and finally "von Sym". But "von Sym" was much to short. So the thinking went on. After another, endless-seeming discussion, i got the idea. Why not combine the term of endearment of our fur-noses "Sibi" and the name "Sym"? Said and done :o) After a time of waiting we got our certificate of the cattery-registration an well, here we are, the cats "von Sibiysm" and their fellowship :o)

Sym? What is that? My children asked me back then :o) that does not even sound russian!
A river in Siberia has that name. I did not even know this before myself. This medium-range river sorings out of the big river Jennisey. And out of the Sym springs the river Kolegus. What you can learn by starting to breed cats!
